Outdoor Cushions
Outdoor Cushions
Sitting on your living room floor is fun for a while, but inevitably we always go looking for a pillow or blanket. Why? It’s much more comfortable. Following the same logic, how comfortable is the outdoor cement patio? Get the idea. You might need some outdoor cushions to go with your patio.
Sunbrella Fabric
Cushions should come in a fabric that resists rot, mildew, and stains. Sunbrella is just such a fabric. It even has a three year warranty. It is found on many high quality outdoor furniture sets. When shopping for pillows, check for a high quality fabric. A bit of mildew isn’t fun to lie on.
Get large or Over Sized Cushions
Imagine sitting on a little travel pillow on the cement patio. It’s not going to work. You need some added cushioning. For this reason, get pillows that are way bigger than you think you need. One over sized cushion that is wonderful to sit on is the LoveSac. It’s like a bean bag chair, but filled with foam cushioning. It is easy to move around and outdoor fabric is easily zipped over it. If you are a homemaker you can buy some Sunbrella and turn just about anything you like into an outdoor piece of furniture. Items can even be doubled as indoor or outdoor. All you need to do is put on the outdoor covering before you go out.
Memory Cushions
There is a somewhat new product called memory foam. When you lie on it your body sinks in and it will “remember” where you were. Basically, it leaves an imprint on the foam that you can see. This type of foam is quite comfortable. However, most foam pillows of this variety are very expensive and small. They would probably make a good pillow for the lounge or sofa, but not as something to sit on the floor with.
Air Mattresses and Air Sofas
It’s a little bit of work, but an air mattresses and air sofas can be quickly pumped up with air pumps. You might get them out for outdoor slumber parties or outdoor movies. Seeing a movie on the side of the house with a projector is fun for the whole family. Air furniture is a good way to accommodate such an occasion.
Chair Cushions
Many outdoor chairs, chaises, lounges, swings, and benches all may have cushions on them. Over time they become flat or unbearably dirty and need to be replaced. For this reason, you should check them for replacement every 2-3 years.
Throw Pillows
Throw pillows should not be forgotten for the outdoor sofas and chairs. They accent the furniture and make the furniture more comfortable. Some of the long furry throw pillows are fun for the children to play with. LoveSac even makes a small throw pillow that looks like a softball. And, you guessed it, people throw it around just for fun.
