Lounge Chairs
Lounging around the yard is an art.  It takes a certain amount of intellect and style to make it appealing.  However, most of us don’t really put a lot of thought into the process.  Concentrated thought can pay off in dividends of enjoyable weekends.

Chairs that you sit up in can be comfortable for a time, but aren’t a good long term solution.  Imagine yourself watching a movie.  Is it more in the recliner or the kitchen chairs?  If you said recliner, congratulations you are in with most people. 

Lounge chairs help you to lie back as if you were on a sofa.  They are superior for reading outdoors, taking naps, or laying out.  You will find that your guests stay longer because they feel more comfortable.

How about a fire pit with the lounge chair?  How fun would it be to lay in the lounge chair and toast marshmallows?  It’s a burly mans dream.

To make that dream come true, you should consider all the lounging options available.  Rather than going to a big box store right away, consider first they type and quality of furniture you want in your outdoor room.  Here are some of the styles to choose from.

Wood Lounge
Wood has a look that can’t be matched.  It is natural and shows off well.  A wood lounge chair will need cushions to be comfortable.  Wood lounges without cushions are pretty much there for just the looks.  Keep these around for the mother in law and she won’t stay very long.

Teak Furniture
Teak is a dark and beautiful outdoor wood.  It ages well.  It is a tropical hardwood that is widely distributed in India and China.  In North America it is a premium hardwood.  It is very water resistant and is used often in Saunas.

Hammocks – The Ultimate Lounge
Nothing is more relaxing than a good hammock.  Outdoor hammocks are most often made of cotton braided rope and come in the color white. They have spreader bars and are put on a hammock stand.  However, you can also get a traditional Mayan Hammock for less money and it will look really good tied to a tree or patio post.  Hammocks are so much fun everyone will try to get the hammock first.  Since they mold to your body (cotton fabric type) there are no pressure points and you feel like you are sleeping in heaven.    

Wrought Iron Lounge
Heavy iron will last forever.  It needs to come heavily cushioned for a lounge chair or not used all that often.  The color will most often be black.  Because Iron is so strong the furniture will often have a lot of space which makes it ideal for small areas.  Small areas will seem larger.

Economy Lounge   
Go to a big box retailer for an economy lounge.  They are usually made of lightweight steel and have green cushions.  They can also be made of plastic and may or may not come with cushions.  Some economy lounges look pretty good.  What you are giving up is unique styling and long term durability.
