The Large Yard Economical Installation
A favorite large yard landscape is to use tall growing trees on the borders that are fast growing and provide good shade.  In the middle of the yard, plant Fescue Grass.  Fescue grows well in shade and is more drought tolerant than Bluegrass.  If you have to pay for your water, you will appreciate the Fescue Grass.

Have you ever noticed that large parks, football fields, and golf courses consist of mostly one thing; grass.  It’s because grass is the most cost effective and beautiful solution.  The other fact is that tall trees are also in abundance.  If you have a large yard and want it landscaped economically grass and trees are the way to go. 

Ponds and Themes
A large pond with Koi fish can make a large yard more fun.  In addition, a path that winds throughout the yard with various water features and lots of types of perennials. 

A large yard can incorporate more than one theme.  You might have ornamental desert grasses in one area and water lilies and a pond in another.  Large yards must have a good well lighted path, water, grass, and trees. 

Swimming Pools and Spas
Large yards will often have swimming pools and spas.  Swimming pools take up an immense amount of space. 

Outdoor Houses
Many large yards have outdoor houses.  You might have a pool house, guest house, cabin, or a play house for the children.  These outdoor homes should complement the main residence.  There are even full size houses built into trees.  It’s like having a dream home as a tree house.
