Carnivorous Plants
When camping, beware of carnivorous plants.  They just might eat up all the flies in the area. 

Venus Fly Trap
The fly trap is easily the most popular carnivorous plant.  It is available occasionally at various big box retailers and nurseries. It's called the fly trap because you can feed it flys.

Pitcher Plant
The pitcher plant is much more impressive than the Venus Fly Trap.  It can eat small mammals and reptiles.  The plant catches a lot of insects.  Some animals try to eat the insects and can end up becoming the plants food. 

The plant is, as the name implies, shaped like a pitcher.  The plant holds digestive juices at the bottom of the pitcher.  It also has downward growing hairs that aid in keeping insects from climbing out.
